 Next Event

Stan Silver will be presenting 'Rules Rule', from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm

conversations with Stan on the differences between process & rule
based development this looks to a fascinating presentation.

Rules Rule

The benefits of modeling multi-person software development
as a collection of rules that are followed, rather than as a
step-based process.

For many years, multi-person software development was modeled as a
step-based process [for example 1) analyze, 2) design, 3) code, and 4)
test]. Recently, several authors have written books that treat
multi-person software development as a collection of rules that are
followed.

We will look at several such collections of rules* (also called best
practices or patterns), and discuss the benefits to be gained by
thinking about multi-person software development in such a fashion.
